Towards the end of 2024, we at Pixaera reflect on a year marked by bold strides in safety training. Guided by the principle of empowering frontline teams, we developed innovative modules and platform features that transformed how companies build safety competence. Here’s a recap of our proudest achievements:

Preparing frontline teams for real-world high-risk scenarios

We continued building our extensive library of high-risk safety training modules, equipping workers with the skills to effectively identify, mitigate, and respond to workplace hazards.

Dropped Objects: reducing risks at height

Workers need to prevent injuries from falling objects by recognizing hazards early and taking corrective action. Our Dropped Objects module trains workers through an immersive, 7-level game focused on the nine principles of dropped object prevention. Users interact with dynamic simulations to secure tools, barricade danger zones, and respond in real-time.

Slips, Trips, and Falls: hazard recognition on the move

Every worker must identify and mitigate slip, trip, and fall risks in diverse work environments. This six-level interactive module covers common workplace hazards with real-time decision-making scenarios. Learners navigate hazards such as uneven surfaces, spillage, and misplaced tools—all within a 15-minute game-based experience.

Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) Safety: mastering traffic safety

Supervisors and operators must ensure vehicle safety in high-traffic areas to prevent collisions.

The PIT Safety module simulates traffic management scenarios where users must control vehicle movement, identify hazards, and stop unsafe work. This helps reduce workplace vehicle-related fatalities, which account for 19% of all job-site deaths.

Hazard Spotting: fast-paced safety reinforcement

Companies need an engaging way to reinforce Life-Saving Rules continuously. Our Hazard Spotting module is a gamified, 8-minute experience where users compete globally by identifying risks in fast-paced hazard-spotting games. The dynamic format keeps critical safety principles at the forefront of my mind.

Building trust through dialogue with Conversation Fundamentals

We expanded our offering into psychological safety via our Safety Leadership series, mainly through Conversation Fundamentals.

HSE managers, site supervisors, and every member of frontline teams need to lead difficult safety conversations with empathy and ensure open communication. Built on BP’s P.E.A.C.E model, Conversation Fundamentals trains leaders in five critical conversation steps: Prepare, Engage, Advance, Close Out, and Evaluate. Real-world scenarios develop soft skills like listening, empathetic leadership, and conflict resolution.

Assessing safety competence with targeted checks with the Life-Saving-Rules Knowledge Survey

We introduced a new way to assess competence and identify gaps via our LSR Knowledge Survey.

HSE leaders must ensure that every employee understands Life-Saving Rules and focus on areas of improvement. This adaptive tool assesses safety knowledge, highlighting key competency gaps through personalized assessments. Its dynamic questioning approach and scenario-based quizzes reduce training time while ensuring critical rules are understood. The survey provides detailed insights into individual knowledge gaps, enabling targeted training interventions.

Managing contractors' competence by verifying their skills at scale

Project managers must ensure contractors have the required safety knowledge before stepping on-site.

Contractor Competence Management tracks and verifies contractor safety credentials through pre-site assessments. Built-in analytics provide deep insights into team competency levels, enabling data-driven decisions. The system offers adaptive learning approaches with full training or bite-sized modules, ensuring efficient evaluation and knowledge reinforcement.

Blending in-person and VR learning with Classroom Mode

We transformed the traditional classroom experience, merging in-person learning with VR training. Trainers need to deliver interactive safety sessions while collecting actionable insights. Classroom Mode transforms in-person training by streaming interactive VR modules to a classroom screen. Learners engage with safety scenarios, while instructors track attendance and performance through real-time analytics. This integration ensures that all facilitators deliver the same structured content, emphasizing consistency and accuracy. Modules stream directly onto projector screens or can even be accessed offline, making setup straightforward and scalable across large workforces.

Prioritizing accessibility, awareness, and integration through new platform features

We ensured consistent training delivery, tracked safety performance, and optimized learning at scale.

Browser streaming: global training without barriers

Global companies need accessible training that works anywhere without technical limitations. Pixaera’s browser streaming enhances platform performance by enabling worldwide VR streaming. This technology ensures that immersive learning experiences are accessible without the need for high-end hardware, breaking down barriers to effective training.

HSE campaigns: end-to-end safety campaigns

HSE managers must promote continuous learning and keep safety messages alive. At Pixaera, we combine immersive training, personalized messaging, and real-time performance tracking. Campaign managers can deploy more than 20 interactive modules tailored to safety goals. The platform facilitates the creation of comprehensive safety campaigns that engage the entire workforce, fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
