This month, our product team headed out to the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC) to connect, learn from, and showcase our VR safety training solutions to major energy producers and consumers.
With over 16,500 conference delegates and 1,800 conference speakers in attendance over the 3-day conference and over 370 conference sessions available, there were a lot of people to meet and insights to learn from within the energy sector. This sector is a critical user group for our product, and the more we understand their safety pain points and requirements, the more effective our training modules become for energy employees and contractors.
Huge thanks to the ADIPEC team for putting the conference together and creating a space to exchange ideas and learn from each other to create a better, safer, and more sustainable future for energy.
The critical role of safety training in the energy sector
The energy sector remains one of the most high-risk industries globally. According to the International Association of Oil & Gas Producers (IOGP), the industry experiences approximately 0.5 fatal accidents per million work hours. This alarming statistic underscores the vital importance of comprehensive, highly effective safety training for every worker in the industry.
A 2023 study by the Energy Institute revealed that effective safety training can reduce workplace incidents by up to 35%, demonstrating the undeniable positive impact of powerful training. Our training solution is designed to maximize trainee engagement, knowledge retention, and real-time safety decision-making through immersive, story-driven modules and role-play scenarios. All with the goal of building a well-equipped workforce with the necessary knowledge and skills to keep themselves and everyone on-site safe.
