This August, we hosted our inaugural Braintrust event with our most valued partners and customers for a day of insightful discussions and shared visions in Houston. Pixaera celebrated this event as a significant milestone as it marks the start of a global safety community in health, safety, and environment, breaking down barriers to achieve one goal: empowering people to take ownership of their safety future for a safer, more productive, more engaged workforce.
A Day of Connection and Collaboration
The event was designed to foster deeper connections with our customers—industry leaders from GE Vernova, Chevron, BP, PCL, and ConocoPhillips—and to bring together like-minded professionals dedicated to advancing safety, immersive learning, and innovation in their organizations. All attendees shared their expertise and insights on key industry topics while allowing us at Pixaera to gain valuable feedback on continuing to serve their needs effectively.
Engaging Discussions and Valuable Insights
The day kicked off with two powerful Lightning Insight Sessions:
Driving Safety Culture within an Organization—Led by Don Blumenthal, District HSE Manager at PCL, this session highlighted practical strategies for cultivating a safety-first mindset within teams. This discussion was enlightening and actionable, demonstrating the importance of embedding safety into every organization's culture.
How to Scale Immersive Learning Across an Organization - Delivered virtually by Graeme Lannigan, Global HSSE Manager Learning at BP, this session delved into the nuances of deploying immersive learning solutions at scale. From leveraging VR to enhance training programs to overcoming common barriers, this discussion sparked innovative ideas among participants on how to elevate their learning initiatives.
Shaping the HSE Future Together: A Collaborative Vision for 2025
After a short break, we shifted gears to an interactive visioning session led by Mousa Yassin, Pixaera’s founder and CEO.
By breaking into separate breakout groups, HSE leaders explored opportunities for HSE disruption and discussed programs, activities and initiatives through an eco-cycle mapping exercise. Five pillars can be identified as the primary outcomes of the discussion:
Enabling life-saving rules
Promoting safety leadership
Adopting human performance principles
Managing contractor safety competence and
Shaping HSE training programs via AI and predictive analytics
Afterwards, our attendees helped co-create a tactical plan for the future that aligns with their priorities and positions Pixaera as a partner in their continued success. This session was an opportunity to present Pixaera's strategy and vision for the coming years. The conversation was framed around understanding our customers' evolving needs and identifying areas where Pixaera could deliver the most value.
As the session delved into specific pain points faced by the industry, from extrusion presses to more advanced simulation-based training modules, participants brainstormed possible solutions for addressing them, from cultural change to contractor management to constructive interventions.
An Afternoon of Fun and Networking
To wrap up the day, the event transitioned to an informal networking session over Top Golf, where attendees had the chance to unwind, enjoy some friendly competition, and further build connections. This blend of thoughtful discussion and light-hearted interaction underscored the spirit of Braintrust: bringing together great minds to solve industry challenges while also having a little fun along the way.
